As President of the Georgia Animal Control Association, it is a rare and proud moment to contribute to the preservation of a national treasure: the American bald eagle.
Recently, a bald eagle was found sick, flightless, and near death. Our team provided full care and assistance, alongside the Cook County Sheriff's Office, transporting the bird to Quailwood Animal Hospital in Tifton, Georgia, where expert veterinary staff stabilized and treated the majestic bird. Through a coordinated collaborative effort alongside the Georgia Department of Natural Resources and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, the eagle was successfully nursed back to health, culminating in a ceremonial release back into the wild.
I cannot fully express how deeply honored I was to be part of such an exceptional and rare occasion. This successful rehabilitation serves as a powerful reminder of the vital importance of wildlife conservation and our collective responsibility to protect our nation's precious natural heritage.
Regenia Wells,
President, GACA
